Our law firm was founded more than thirty years ago on a simple plan: bring together excellent lawyers motivated by an unwavering determination to vindicate their clients' rights, and meet the highest level of commitment to ethical behavior. Today, Nevin, Benjamin, McKay & Bartlett LLP is comprised of a team of lawyers who embody this original vision through over 100 years of combined legal experience.
The firm's practice is focused on criminal defense and civil litigation, representing clients throughout Idaho, the Intermountain West and beyond. Our strong work ethic, capable support staff and technical expertise allow us to take on cases of virtually any size.
We have obtained acquittals in some of the highest profile criminal cases in the history of Idaho, including the Ruby Ridge case, and the case of Sami Al-Hussayen, a graduate student at the University of Idaho wrongly accused of terrorism. We have been involved in proceedings before the Military Commissions at the United States Naval Station in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. David Nevin presently is lead counsel for a capitally charged, high value detainee in a case arising out of the attacks of September 11, 2001, and the resulting criminal investigation which has been described as the largest investigation in the history of the United States. Our appellate lawyers frequently appear before state and federal appellate courts and have obtained successful results for our clients in numerous cases, including new trials, new sentencing hearings and the outright dismissal of cases. Over the years, our firm has represented individuals charged with nearly every type of state and federal offense - from first degree murder to driving under the influence.
On the civil front, we have successfully represented plaintiffs and defendants alike in a variety of contexts and courts. We have obtained multi million dollar settlements for clients including on behalf of a child and his parents who brought suit against the physicians and hospital responsible for the child's catastrophic birth injuries. We helped achieve a court approved multi million dollar settlement in collective and class wage and hour actions on behalf of current and former employees of a large retail grocery chain. We obtained the outright dismissal of our client from the complex multii-district federal litigation consolidated in New York arising out of the 9/11 attacks. We continue to represent individuals and surviving family members of individuals seriously harmed by the negligence and wrongful conduct of others.
We have found that the compelling legal and factual issues upon which the biggest cases turn are also present in the smallest cases - and we truly consider no case too big or too small.
We are proud of our "AV" rating from Martindale-Hubbell, the country's preeminent lawyer rating service.
